Couscous is a grain made from semolina wheat flour, it is a staple food from the North Africa, Middle East and some areas of Italy. It can be used as a substitute for rice or quinoa.
how do i cook it?
Ingredients
1 cup instant couscous
1 cup water or low salt stock (I use stock if I am not using the couscous with a saucey dish)
Method
1. Bring water or stock to the boil in a medium saucepan
2. Turn off heat and stir in couscous
3. Cover and leave for 10 minutes (if after 10 minutes the couscous is still crunchy let it sit for a little bit longer)
4. Remove cover/lid and gently fluff up with a fork
